Charismatic writer/actress Lena Dunham revealed recently in an interview with Interview magazine that she has not always been so popular with her peers, The 26-year old told tales of when she once had to switch schools due to lack of popularity with her class mates, however she also admits that this was not totally due to mean kids but more about her lack of interest in making any friends.
“I didn’t feel like the other kids got me, but then I was also sort of bored and annoyed by them, so I knew that a large part of it was my problem, I actually had to switch schools because I didn’t have friends.”
Lena victoriously landed herself two Golden Globe awards on Sunday for her ground-breaking HBO comedy drama series Girls, Lena shows very similar characteristics to her character Hannah Horvath in the series particularly with this hilarious quote;
“I remember my parents saying, “She is so victimised at her school, so she has to switch.” But I was like, “I’m switching schools because I’m and a**hole.””
Dunham’s honest approach to the media is really refreshing and reminds us of another lovely lady who goes by the name of Lily Allen (Lily Rose Cooper). Dunham went on to talk about her relationship with musician boyfriend Jack Antonoff, guitarist from the band Fun, and commented on the cloak and dagger approach most celebs take when it comes to their relationships saying;
“I know there is some rule that you’re not supposed to talk about your boyfriend publicly just because it seems like all starlets under the age of 33 have decided not to do that, but if you’re in love with someone great, then I don’t understand why you wouldn’t tell everybody. I mean, I’ve always been a big “I love you”- Sayer and stuff.” – Awwwwww!
We love Lena Dunham, we love her as Hannah we love her writing we love her as a cover girl and we especially love her refreshing honesty and charm!
