Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had a fab break. I had a lovely Christmas and New Year, although I am glad to be back and into the swing of the New Year, January is the busiest time for the hen party and stag do sector being the main booking period following all of the festive proposals, so it is really hectic at the moment.
I have decided that 2013 is going to be a big year – which is a tough act to follow after the success of The Eventa group last year, making the Sunday Times Fast Track League table and qualifying as the 80th fastest growing business in the UK was definitely a big highlight, so onwards and upwards!
Looking back at the past year -2012 was the year of celebrity engagements, weddings and parties, so here are my Party Queen’s pick of the best parties of the year:
The Vanity Fair Oscar Party
Anyone who is anyone attends the annual Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Each year Tinsletown’s glitterati head to the premier magazine’s post Oscar party. Last year was no exception when the lavish party was hosted by Graydon Carter at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood. Guest list included: Jennifer Lopez, Kate Beckinsale and husband Len Wiseman, Victoria and David Beckham and of course it was the last social occasion that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise attended as man and wife.
Hugh Hefners Casablanca 86th Birthday Party
Hugh Hefner hosts lots of parties at the Playboy Mansion, one that sticks to mind every year is his Casablanca party, here he screens his favourite film every year and last year’s party was a double celebration as he also celebrated his 86th birthday. Guests sipped champagne and ate caviar at the party and watched on as Hefner blew out candles from a cake where his face was superimposed onto Humphrey Bogurts face from the iconic movie poster.
Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves Wedding
Matthew McConaughey and Brazilian model Camilla Alves wedded in June at an impressive 3 day extravaganza at their home in Texas.
120 guests stayed in luxury air conditioned tents which were equipped with beds, cosy fur rugs and outdoor seating and partied until the early hours in the grounds of the couple.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s 38th Birthday Bash
Leonardo DiCaprio lived up to his party animal reputation by hosting a huge party for his 38th birthday last November at the Darby Nightclub in New York. The star-studded guestlist included: Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Robert DeNiro and Cameron Diaz. Every bottle purchased at the party by Leo and his celeb friends Leo donated a percentage of the money to the Red Cross charity raising a charitable $500,000 – that’s a lot of bubbly!!!
Some impressive parties, let’s keep an eye for some bigger and better ones this year.
